چکیده

Robot soccer game is one of the significant and interesting areas among most of the autonomous robotic researches. Following the humanoid soccer robot basic movement and strategy actions, the robot is operated in a dynamic and unpredictable contest environment and must recognize the position of itself in the field all the time. Therefore, the localization system of the soccer robot becomes the key technology to improve the performance. This work proposes efficient approaches for humanoid robot and uses one landmark to accomplish the self-localization. This localization mechanism integrates the information from the pan/tilt motors and a single camera on the robot head together with the artificial neural network technique to adaptively adjust the humanoid robot position. The neural network approach can improve the precision of the localization. The experimental results indicate that the average accuracy ratio is 88.5% under frame rate of 15 frames per second (fps), and the average error for the distance between the actual position and the measured position of the object is

Flexible Foot/Ankle Based on PKM with Force/Torque Sensor for Humanoid Robot

This paper describes the development of a novel humanoid robot foot/ankle based on an orientation Parallel Kinematic Mechanism for intelligent and flexible control. With three identical Universal-Prismatic-Spherical prismatic-actuated limbs and a central Universal-Revolute passive limb, the PKM can perform three degrees of freedom rotation motions. In order to enable the humanoid robot safely t...

Vision-Based humanoid Navigation using Self-Supervised Obstacle Detection

In this article, we present an efficient approach to obstacle detection for humanoid robots based on monocular images and sparse laser data. We particularly consider collision-free navigation with the Nao humanoid, which is the most popular small-size robot nowadays. Our approach first analyzes the scene around the robot by acquiring data from a laser range finder installed in the head. Then, i...

A Monocular Vision System for Playing Soccer in Low Color Information Environments

Humanoid soccer robots perceive their environment exclusively through cameras. This paper presents a monocular vision system that was originally developed for use in the RoboCup Humanoid League, but is expected to be transferable to other soccer leagues. Recent changes in the Humanoid League rules resulted in a soccer environment with less color coding than in previous years, which makes percep...

Humanoid Robot Navigation: Getting Localization Information from Vision

In this article, we present our work to provide a navigation and localization system on a constrained humanoid platform, the NAO robot, without modifying the robot sensors. First we try to implement a simple and light version of classical monocular Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) algorithms, while adapting to the CPU and camera quality, which turns out to be insufficient on the pla...
